90 years ago my Great Grandmother was born in the Netherlands.. 26 years ago I was brought into this world and she was there to hold me and know the joy of becoming a GREAT Grandmother.. My NANNY! She is the most beautiful person inside and out. She celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday with family and friends. I thought when we celebrated her 80th,"Wow". After celebrating yesterday its just so GREAT! She has seen so much in this life and it amazes me how strong she still is. She lives on her own and loves to watch Wrestling on Payperview every Mon and Sun nite. Watching her eyes fill with tears as we sang Happy Birthday to her brought joy to my heart and tears down my face. I hugged her and she whispered to me" THank you, I love you sweetie,THank you thank you for making me a GREAT GREAT Grandmother to my beautiful babies, I love you!" Those words will forever play in my head. This was a moment I will forever hold in my heart. The joy of her saying this to me was like giving birth to my children all over again. Life is so precious and she takes it that way.She would never turn anyone away. She welcomes strangers with open arms. Every person she meets is like she has known them forever.How do we get so lucky to be blessed with people like her in our lives? She is truly an Angel sent from God. I hope I live to be at least half the woman she is and give all the love she has to her family and friends. She is so loved by everyone.
As I walked into her house yesterday I was ovewhelmed with how many flowers and cards she had recieved. Dozens of flowers everywhere and cards lined up all over walls and shelves. Everyday she has atleast 1 visitor. Thats how loved she is. Everyone wants to be around her. I wish I had more time to see her and I will make it now. Time is so precious and I will forever treasure this time I have with her. I hope to see another 10 years and watch her blow out that 100 candle.:) Happy Birthday Nanny.. I love you!
